The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides acute hospital care for a tertiary catchment area of up to 1 million people. The Trust provides a full range of acute clinical services, including more specialist services such as oncology, and radiotherapy, neonatology, orthopaedics, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, rheumatology, paediatric medicine and surgery.
Every year the staff of 10,000 treats around 1 million people from Norfolk, from neighbouring counties and from further afield. Patients are referred to the NNUH by around 100 local GP practices but also from other acute hospitals and other primary care trusts around the country. The Trust plays an important role in the teaching and training of a very wide range of health professionals, in partnership with the University of East Anglia, City College Norwich and University Campus Suffolk
